Multi-Country Payroll

Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda & more

One payroll engine across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda — and the countries after them.

Operating across East Africa means four tax authorities, four sets of contribution ceilings and four filing calendars that rarely move together. Kenya’s NSSF tiers change on a different schedule to Uganda’s, Tanzania adds employer-side levies that never touch an employee’s net pay, and Rwanda splits pension from maternity contributions before community health insurance is considered.

StepUp treats that variation as data rather than as special cases in code. Every rate, band, ceiling and relief is versioned by country and effective date, which is why adding a market is a configuration change rather than a rebuild — and why the four launch countries are a starting point rather than a ceiling.
